Are you in Delhi NCR? The rising AQI levels bothering you? Well, the worsening air quality in Delhi has entered the poor category with the only consolation being that pollution is not as bad as that of previous years.

Yes, you read it right... It’s better than previous years! Doesn’t this act as a ray of hope? A hope for a breathable Delhi! And this hope is something which motivates our volunteers to keep working towards the solution - building and raising natural carbon sinks in the capital.

With the same mission, our volunteers went to nurture these carbon sinks - our saplings at Hauz Khas, Sainik Vihar and Sangam Vihar. If you are a regular follower of our page you would know we have many native tree saplings in these locations - few of them being amaltas, mehendi, neem, amla, pilkhan, hibiscus.

Our volunteers ensure that these saplings get water by either carrying filled water bottles from their homes or arranging it from a nearby source. Unfortunately some of our saplings have been uprooted but we’ll do replacement plantation - you can join us!

Our saplings are growing up and we hope they would mature in the next few months. It gives us immense happiness and satisfaction watching them grow, taking care of them, and praying for their health and safety. Hope these small ones grow big and strong!

WE MEAN TO CLEAN's Recommendations to Achieve a Swachh Bharat - I

India is one big nation. We are rich in cultural heritage. Over century we’ve developed, economically, especially the middle class. About 43% of population resides in urban areas, which were 11.4% according to 1901 census, 28.53% in the 2001 census and crossed 30% as per 2011 census, standing at 31.16%. There are 53 urban agglomerations in India with a population of 1 million or more as of 2011 against 35 in 2001. Our transcendence can be termed as “a consumerist culture”, where virtually every item purchased comes fixed in a box wrapped in a bubble sheet. In science, this fact reduces time of impact and absorbs the momentum after collision but in reality it is aggregating to an irreparable damage to environment. It is waste generation. What happens when many hands come together?

An exciting day for us. We never tried it before at this scale at such a location. But with a little help from everyone the day turned out to be outstanding! The place is Janakpuri District Center. It's a large shopping center in west Delhi. Home to various kinds of shops, eateries, restaurants and even offices. Also, a perpetual victim of civil negligence by those who have an establishment here or the visitors to these establishments. Yes, the place maintains consistency all-year round in terms of open garbage dumping. Before we even conducted this drive we spoke to a lot of shop owners to understand the problem. It was the same lamenting around people's attitude towards littering liberally... Forget littering, people found creative ways to dump their garbage - office letter boxes! Cleanliness and Awareness Drive at Chuna Bhatti, Kirti Nagar

HEY IT’S NOT CHILDREN’S DAY, BUT IT IS! Total Volunteers = 25 Garbage Collected = 300 KG Bottle Caps Collected = 121 “The most beautiful thing in the world is a child’s smile. The next best thing? Knowing that you are the reason behind it.” That’s exactly how we all felt when we conducted our cleanliness drive with the kids of Chuna Bhatti slum cluster in Kirti Nagar. Yes, in our newest endeavour we are looking to transform yet another park in this area from a dumping yard to a lush green park. And we had tremendous support from the kids of this place. All so ecstatic and exuberant. We began by briefing the kids and the locals about our aspirations. Thankfully, our ideas elicited a positive response and the much-desired support.
