Cleaunp, Plantation and Street Play at Chuna Bhatti, Kirti Nagar

AAO AAO NATAK DEKHO!!! Total Volunteers = 30 Total Saplings Planted = 5 Locals Involved = 120 The theatre was created to tell people the truth about life and the social situation. - Stella Adler No lights, no set, no pre-recorded music yet the energy loaded team of Kissa - Dramatic Society helped us attract a large number of ears and eyes. As further advancement to our work in Chuna Bhatti, our volunteers along with Kissa members travelled street to street pulling crowd and sensitizing them about the plastic menace our earth is suffering from. Not just the attention grabbing nukkad natak, the locals themselves could see the immense plastic trapped inside soil while they dug pits for plantation. We were happy to replace plastic in the park we have been transforming with Marodphali, Jamun, Chameli, Jatropha and Amrood saplings. Our discrete little efforts every weekend are certainly leading to continuous positive changes in not just this park but also the minds of locals

World Cleanup Day or World Cleanup Weekend?

World Cleanup Day or World Cleanup Weekend? With four drives at four different locations we had a cleanup WEEKEND! Gosh… we were quite busy! You never saw a very busy person who was unhappy. - Dorothy Dix With over 40+ volunteers participating across four events that included watering our existing saplings, planting shrubs and a cleanup drive at Chuna Bhatti we couldn’t have asked for a better weekend than this… Thank you volunteers! Our volunteers began with watering our native tree saplings in Hauz Khas and Sangam Vihar on Saturday morning. And in the afternoon, we gathered at Chuna Bhatti in Kirti Nagar. We were over 25 volunteers including MCD staff and some locals. Rightfully, the MCD staff cautioned the local shopkeepers, in this slum cluster, not to use single use plastic bags as it may attract hefty penalties. Some of the shopkeepers delighted us by showing us their dustbins they kept already. Some even asked for alternatives to plastic bags. Letting go of a ha

Watering Saplings at Hauz Khas and Sangam Vihar

PLANTATION DONE, WATERING BEGINS! Find out what your gift is and nurture it. - Katy Perry What’s a bigger gift to mankind than life itself? Life… for which we depend upon trees. Our volunteers planted life yet again this year’s monsoon. It’s not a big deal… But the bigger effort lies really in watering and maintaining them regularly! We want to nurture our saplings to achieve the real purpose of our plantation activity. And that purpose is our humble contribution to our city’s green cover. And this can help us tackle pollution and extreme weather conditions. So, we commenced our this year’s watering activity at two of our sites – Hauz Khas and Sangam Vihar. For us, every day is earth day, every day is environment day! Join us and help us in our mission! Visit http://wmtc.org.in

Awareness and Plantation Drive at Chuna Bhatti, Kirti Nagar

STEP BY STEP ▪ Total Volunteers = 12 ▪ Total Saplings Planted = 20 ▪ Amount of Garbage Cleared = 20 KG (approx.) ▪ Locals Involved = 60+ Step by step the ladder is ascended. - George Herbert Our meetups usually happen in mornings. But this one was a bit different. We held this one in afternoon to gain maximum interface with the locals. Fortunately, we had the blessings from weather god who kept it quite pleasant for us. We were about 12 including six students from Ramjas College who were quite excited in their maiden drive with us. But when it comes to excitement, none can beat kids! Ever since we have embarked upon our most ambitious mission yet, we have been regularly interacting with the local kids to learn about their aspirations when it comes to this park. One thing clearly came out. They all wanted plants that bear beautiful flowers and those that could attract butterflies. And they even assured us to take care of them! But there was a challeng
