Cleanup at Sangam Vihar DDA Park

VOLUNTEER... IT HELPS! Whatever your cause, whatever your motivation, I hope you'll agree with me that volunteer service is an extraordinary gift. - Neil Bush A pleasant February morning welcomed us at Sangam Vihar DDA park. Perfect for a cleanup drive! Our small yet significant army wore their reusable gloves and exuded their passion towards cleaning the environment around our saplings clean. Of course, it also helps in keeping the place neat and tidy anyway! The beauty of this team is they do not need directions. Everything falls into place by itself. Some went forward clearing up the garbage and others began clearing up weeds surrounding our saplings. And some fed the saplings with compost. The coordination was like a perfect symphony orchestra. At the end of the drive, we collected about 60 kg of trash and were able to clear enough weed that our saplings were clearly noticeable, with a dedicated path now visible towards them for easy a

Watering and Maintenance of Native Tree Saplings

PED TO LAGAYA... #PaaniDiyaKya ? Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. – Arthur Ashe The problem of air pollution is on the rise every year and the air we inhale is only going to get more toxic if we don't change our ways. We have become prey to our comfortable lifestyles that we find it difficult to escape. What we don't know is the power of taking small steps starting from home to volunteering on community level. Our volunteers are conscious about the consequences of every action of theirs - segregating waste at home to planting and nurturing native trees regularly! This weekend, our volunteers gathered at the three locations we have planted native trees - namely, Hauz Khas, Sainik Vihar and Sangam Vihar. With the onset of relatively sunny days, many of these littlebies were waiting for us eagerly to quench their thirst. With the expected sunny days ahead, our plants will need us more often.  Help us in watering the

Maintenance of Sangam Vihar Native Tree Saplings

PED TO LAGAYA... #PaaniDiyaKya ? Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. -William James The bad news is that air pollution still persists and the good news is that it can be dealt with by taking tiny steps by each one of us. All we just need is to accept the situation and start acting on it instead of passing the ball in other's court. Our volunteers very well understand the severity of problem we all have landed ourselves into and are doing their bit to dilute the polluted air that we're breathing at present. We gathered at Sangam Vihar to water and nurture our saplings that we planted here. The volunteers also did weeding around our these saplings. It's their weekly efforts that the saplings are doing fine. But, we need more people! Join us and help these saplings grow. Visit http://wmtc.org.in
