A cleanup in DLF Phase 1! Wait. Does that place even require one?

Apparently, no! But an hour of manual work and we had 25 kgs of waste collected in our bags demanding the right disposal mechanism.

The side track of the main road next to Silver Oaks Society in Gurgaon is prone to open dumping of plastic waste, mostly of the gutkha and pan masala packets, and disposable glasses.

Unfortunately, they even escape the landfills or recycling chain. And sadly, they get mixed with the local soil.

Soil is the mother of all mothers. Soil is what gives life to the flora. It’s a different avatar of our mother nature. So, we gathered this mother’s day to do our bit towards our super mother.

Our volunteers together with Lakshya Foundation collected plastic waste from the stretch and handed it over to FrontMan Waste Handling for its proper disposal.

Let’s take responsibility for our actions and prevent our Mother Earth from the burden of the waste we’re constantly loading her with.

Stop littering. Use a dustbin. Save soil.

Native Tree Plantation at Ajmal Khan Park, Karol Bagh

PLANT A TREE, PLANT A LIFE! Total Volunteers = 16 Saplings Planted = 23 (amaltas, pilkhan) Bottle Caps Collected = 287 Continuing our weekly efforts in the monsoon season of 2019, we returned to the Ajmal Khan park on 10th of August. With a clear objective of planting native trees none needed any briefing on what to do. We had our own volunteers as well as some of the local residents. It was a pleasant morning that helped everyone’s high spirits. The soil was quite hard on the patch we targeted for our plantation. Thanks to the absence of rains and also the minor amounts of construction and demolition waste buried beneath. And we had to dig pits here!
