But an hour of manual work and we had 25 kgs of waste collected in our bags demanding the right disposal mechanism. The side track of the main road next to Silver Oaks Society in Gurgaon is prone to open dumping of plastic waste, mostly of the gutkha and pan masala packets, and disposable glasses. Unfortunately, they even escape the landfills or recycling chain. And sadly, they get mixed with the local soil. Soil is the mother of all mothers. Soil is what gives life to the flora. It’s a different avatar of our mother nature. So, we gathered this mother’s day to do our bit towards our super mother. Our volunteers together with Lakshya Foundation collected plastic waste from the stretch and handed it over to FrontMan Waste Handling for its proper disposal.
