CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH NATURE!

In order to make people feel attached to Prasad Nagar Lake, we involved them in plantation in the lake park today.

The gesture was well received and much appreciated by the locals. They pledged to take care of the saplings by watering them.

Additionally, the locals also felt more enthusiastic about cleaning of the lake and agreed to cooperate by spreading awareness among the visitors on littering or dropping wheat flour balls in the lake.

As for the actual cleaning process, we had a meeting with DDA officials yesterday, along with their contractor. While the contractor is fixated on the idea of removal of silt only when the lake dries up, we believe it's not possible this season.

Thus, the DDA officials have sought our proposal on the same - how to clean the lake while it is still full of water. Our experts are drafting a proposal on the same and we are looking to submit the same during this week.

However, till then we have to keep our other efforts going on. One of them is spreading awareness among the visitors, which our volunteers are diligently doing. And the other set was leading the scene to keep the park clean by themselves clearing the litter in lake park.

What happens when many hands come together?

An exciting day for us. We never tried it before at this scale at such a location. But with a little help from everyone the day turned out to be outstanding! The place is Janakpuri District Center. It's a large shopping center in west Delhi. Home to various kinds of shops, eateries, restaurants and even offices. Also, a perpetual victim of civil negligence by those who have an establishment here or the visitors to these establishments. Yes, the place maintains consistency all-year round in terms of open garbage dumping. Before we even conducted this drive we spoke to a lot of shop owners to understand the problem. Cleanliness and Awareness Drive at Chuna Bhatti, Kirti Nagar

Knowing that you are the reason behind it.” That’s exactly how we all felt when we conducted our cleanliness drive with the kids of Chuna Bhatti slum cluster in Kirti Nagar. Yes, in our newest endeavour we are looking to transform yet another park in this area from a dumping yard to a lush green park. And we had tremendous support from the kids of this place. All so ecstatic and exuberant. We began by briefing the kids and the locals about our aspirations. Thankfully, our ideas elicited a positive response and the much-desired support.
